Worship Services (click here for schedules)

Worship is the spring out of which the riches of God`s grace flows.  It is the springboard from which Christian service bounds.  Vital worship is at the very center of Mocks` congregational life.  We provide nursery care, and a children`s story or children`s church at the 11 am service.  We strive to make Mocks UMC a place where members and guests bring their families to worship got together each week.

The next Gather Together service is
the first Sunday of every month.
Come join us and sing praises with the band.

Everyone is invited to attend and hear the fascinating story

A Time to Pray

Join us on the
first and third Wednesdays of every month
at noon in the Sanctuary

for a time of peaceful prayer and contemplation.
We will pray for the concerns of our church,
community, and world,
and spend time listening for God to speak to us.
Consider it a mid-week, mid-day time
to pay attention to God and to our spiritual lives.
This month we will be making plans for
a Day Apart at Well of Mercy Retreat Center in Harmony NC.

Anyone is welcome to come along. Speak to Pastor Bob.

BOOK OF THE MONTH:

Each month we shall showcase a children`s book and an adult book that can be checked out of the Spiritual Lending Library. These two books can be found in the narthex. This month`s selections are:

Children`s Selection

Shadow Night

by Kay Chorao

Scary shapes in James’s bedroom give him a fright. Is it a MONSTER? No, just shadows cast by the moonlight. James’s parents show him how to make shadow shapes with their hands. Now, James isn’t afraid anymore. This comforting story about nighttime fears will ring true to any parent and will inspire hours of family fun.

Adult`s Selection

Manna and Mercy

by Daniel Erlander

Do you want a brief history of God’s unfolding promise to mend the entire universe? Manna and Mercy is a delightful, fun-to-read retelling of the Bible - a book about the God of the Bible who is present and active in human history and in all creation. This is a wonderful telling of the story of God as found in both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament.

Book Drive

We still need young adult books for teenagers in grades 6-12.

Please go through your books for those you wish to donate to the
Spiritual Lending Library.

Please remember,
you can donate books in HONOR of or in MEMORY of
and we`ll include a book plate in the front of the book
to include all your special information.

Please contact the church office at 998-5518 or
email
MocksUMC@yadtel.com should you have any questions.

Mocks Church Mission:

Our Mission is to introduce Christ into the lives of those persons
who are inactive or unacquainted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We will strive to provide an atmosphere and opportunity
